Lymphatic Drainage
Gently stimulates the body's lymphatic system
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a gentle massage technique that promotes the movement of lymphatic fluid. The lymphatic system is responsible for homeostatic fluid balance and immunity, detoxification and transportation of nutrients and oxygen to tissue cells. It can be prone to congestion and stagnation, especially in sedentary clients, cancer patients, chronic disease patients, compromised immunity cases, lymphoedema (fluid retention) and post-surgically
MLD decongests lymph nodes and vessels, opens functioning lymph collectors, allowing free flow of nutrients and fluid
It is recognised by the medical profession and physiotherapists as an effective treatment for a range of conditions:
* Primary lymphoedema
* Post breast cancer related lymphoedema
* Post cancer surgery eg. mastectomy
* Post liposuction or other cosmetic surgery
* Post traumatic injury
* Post orthopaedic surgery
* Post venous disease
*Poor immunity and well-being
Also popular as a beauty treatment to improve the appearance, texture and quality of the skin, lymphatic drainage is beauty's best kept secret! Lymphatic drainage is included in my Holistic Facial Rejuvenation treatment.
Lymphatic drainage does not use oil, making it ideal for those who dislike oil on their skin
